How to grade coins for dummies?

Does anyone know of any guides online for grading coins that a novice could use?

http://www.acoin.com/grading.htm is a good place to start.

I like books that have large, colorful illustrations of each grade of every type coin. For example, one can learn much by viewing a side-by-side comparison of XF and F Buffalo nickels.

Identifying the high point on a coin is crucial!!

Watch out for the sliders.

And be sure to get a good loupe or magnifying glass.

Grading coins is an art.

Good luck!

Just go to a good local book store or to a coin show and a couple of good quality paper-back books will be available at a reasonable cost.

Will probably be a couple of bucks cheaper at a coin show.
